Deletion of records from national police systems

You have the right to apply for the early deletion of records from the National DNA Database (NDNAD), National Fingerprint Database (IDENT1) and/or the Police National Computer (PNC) depending on certain criteria.
Further details can be found in the national guidance.
ACRO manages the Record Deletion Process (RDP), and acts as a conduit between applicants and individual police forces.
It is a review process and the decision on whether to retain or dispose of an offence added to the PNC is the responsibility of the owning police force.
There is no charge for this service, but please make sure you read the guidance before you apply and to ensure that you are eligible to apply.
You will see that the Records Deletion application form and the guidance detail what mandatory information is required in order for ACRO to identify you, so please ensure this information is included on your application form to prevent any delays.
If you are seeking the deletion of more than one event from the PNC then please ensure you use the ‘Additional Event Form’ for each additional event that you seek to have reviewed under the RDP.
